Healthcare Gutter Leak Sheffield

Project Description

Lotus Cladding worked to fix a leak within the healthcare industry in Sheffield. Where a galvanised gutter in situ was severely perished and leaked heavily into the corridor adjacent to the laboratories.

Challenges

The gutter in situ can’t be removed and replaced due to the structure of the building. There have been numerous attempts to rectify the issue, including applying water-resistant paint on the laps of the gutter trays and changing the fixings located near the gutter. Flashband has been applied in places, but they still need to rectify the issue.

Solution

The solution involved a comprehensive approach: stripping away all old membranes and liners to start afresh. A new HD Sharman polygene membrane was installed expertly to restore the gutter’s functionality. Additionally, a new outlet and downpipe were added at the opposite end of the gutter to maintain a consistent flow.
